Motherboard failure. It was a t5500 with xeon procs and dual Quadro 4000 cards. Very nice a few years ago, but serving duty as media pc. Actually glad it died. Got me to finish a few projects.

POS was like five years old and couldn’t run without overheating for more that fifteen minutes if I didn’t constantly run a fan at full power alongside it.

It won’t be missed.

Had experienced massive overheating issues for the past eight months or so and this week it started to crash for no reason after a few minutes everytime I turned it on. It is pretty much dead right now.

I’m not going to ship a five year old mid-range laptop over the Atlantic ocean to get it fixed by my main man Nibby himself, especially when one of my uncles has a spare brand spanking new high-end Laptop lying around because my aunt didn’t need it.

Yeah.....as great as laptops are, this is why my main PC is a desktop. No overheating issues and parts are easily replacable. Not so on laptops though, I’m afraid :( (other than RAM/HDD)....if your video card or any other part dies though, your laptop is pretty much scrap.

I just have a basic, cheap little netbook running Linux for my laptop. Good enough for web surfing and the ocassional Youtube video.
